1. How does Finger Pulse measure heart rate?
Finger Pulse uses Photoplethysmography (PPG). When you place your finger gently on the camera lens, the app uses the camera and flash to capture subtle color and brightness changes in your capillary blood flow with every heartbeat, calculating your real-time BPM and HRV.
2. Tips for getting the most accurate reading
- Place your index fingertip gently over the rear camera lens so it completely covers the lens.
- Do not press too hard, as heavy pressure restricts capillary blood circulation and may yield inaccurate readings.
- Keep your hand still and remain relaxed in a comfortable sitting position during measurement.
- Ensure your hands are warm; cold fingertips can reduce peripheral blood flow.
3. How do I restore my VIP purchase on a new device?
If you have an active subscription or previously purchased VIP:
- Open the Finger Pulse app.
- Go to the About or Paywall screen.
- Tap the "Restore" or "Restore Purchases" button in the top navigation bar.
- Ensure you are logged into the same Apple ID used during the original purchase.
4. How do I cancel or manage my VIP subscription?
Subscriptions are managed directly by Apple. You can cancel anytime:
- Open your iPhone's Settings app.
- Tap your Name / Apple ID at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Select Finger Pulse and tap "Cancel Subscription".
5. Is Finger Pulse intended for medical diagnosis?
No. Finger Pulse is designed solely for fitness, wellness, and self-monitoring. It is not an FDA/medical-grade diagnostic device. If you feel unwell or suspect cardiovascular symptoms, always seek immediate medical evaluation from a qualified physician.
6. Is my health and camera data safe?
Yes, 100%. Camera frames are analyzed in real-time within your device's temporary memory (RAM) and immediately discarded. No video or pictures are ever taken or transmitted. Your logs and wellness data are stored locally on your device.
